Racers Drop Series Finale to UIC

Murray State baseball fell 12-1 to UIC on Sunday afternoon
Murray State baseball dropped its series finale with UIC 12-1 on Sunday afternoon at Johnny Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers currently sit at sixth place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.Â
Ethan Krizen led MSU in the matchup with a pair of singles and an RBI. Taylor Howell scored the Racers lone run of the day after smacking a double down the left field line.
Shortstop Drew Vogel would round out the day at the plate for the Racers with a single of his own.Â
On the mound, Cade Vernon went 5.2 innings pitched while allowing just one earned run (five total) and striking out six Flames. Allen Roulette allowed no earned runs across 1.2 innings pitched in relief.Â
The Racers will look to bounce back Tuesday when they travel to Arkansas State for a 6 p.m. matchup.
