
Kimutai, Wooldridge Frontrunners For Murray State At Gans Creek Classic

Kaydee Wooldridge beat her collegiate personal best on Friday, finishing in the top 100 out of over 200 athletes.
The Murray State women's cross country team finished the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri on Friday in 19th out of 23 competing teams.
Ruth Kimutai led the way for the Racers, finishing 71st with a time of 22:39.8. She bested her time from last year's Classic by three seconds, as well as a 60-spot jump from where she finished in the previous year's race.
Kaydee Wooldridge set a new collegiate 6K personal-best with a time of 23:05.2, beating out her time from the WKU Invite by 1.5 seconds. She finished the race in 92nd out of 227 athletes that finished.
Alyssa Moore came in not far behind Wooldridge, finishing 99th with a time of 23:12.8. She shattered her 6K personal-best at Murray State by nearly 15 seconds.
Breanna Day and Allison Wood rounded out the counting scores for the Racers with 127th-place and 135th-place finishes. Day ended the race with a time of 23:30.6 and Wood finished in 23:37.8.
The Racers will complete regular season competition at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois on October 13th before the MVC Championships take place on October 27th in Nashville, Tennessee.
