Chelby Melvin set a new program record for the third time in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Racers completed their final meet of the outdoor regular season on Saturday at the Outdoor Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee. 15 personal records were set by 14 Racers over the weekend.
"As the regular season wraps up, we always like to see when the small things come together and I think we are getting there," head coach Adam Kiesler said.
Murray State saw 10 top-five finishes on Friday and Saturday, two of which were event wins. Chelby Melvin won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.61, setting a new program record for the third time this season in the event.
The sophomore ran 59.34 to initially break the record at the Texas Relays in March and for the second time at the John McDonnell Invitational with a time of 58.92.
Lucia Herrero Yanez, Anouk Krause-Jentsch, Simone Joseph and Amirr Evans saw a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday with a time of 3:43.81.
"There were a lot of great performances that really should give our kids confidence heading into the conference meet," Kiesler added. "They all understand the task ahead and I think this weekend showed they will be ready."
Murray State now turns its attention to postseason competition at the Missouri Valley Outdoor Conference Championships May 10-12 at the Gibson Track & Field Complex on host Indiana State's campus in Terre Haute, Indiana.
