The Murray State Softball are ready for their second go at the Missouri Valley Conference Softball Tournament when they take on the UIC Flames at Normal, Ill., Wednesday.

The Racers are the No. 9 seed and the Braves are No. 8, with the winner facing No. 1 seed Southern Illinois at the same time Thursday.

Notes

The Racers enter their second Missouri Valley Conference tournament as the ninth seed.
The Racers won their series 2-1 against UIC this season with a 9-2 and 6-0 games two and three wins.
Jenna Veber is leading the Racers from the circle with a 1.42 ERA and a 16-12 win-lose record.
Veber has made 27 starts through 38 appearances and have thrown 11 complete games, four shutouts and one no-hitter.
Catcher Taylor Jackson became the all-time leader for caught stealing by with 43 against Belmont. She now has 17 CSBs this season
Hicks leads the Racers' scoring with 25 runs along with 20 stolen bases through 21 attempts.
The Racers fell in the second round of the 2023 MVC Tournament against Indiana State.
Hannah James pitched 12 complete innings while only allowing 11 hits and two runs through 49 batters faced last season.
Murray State placed fourth in the regular season of their inaugural campaign at the Missouri Valley Conference last season. They are picked sixth in the preseason polls.
