Vierling’s Solo Shot Lifts Racers Past Lions

Murray State notched their third walk off 2025 against Lindenwood
Vierling's home run was the team leading sixth for the junior from Wisconsin. Vierling totaled three hits for the evening, also including a one out single which ignited the ninth inning two run rally.
The Racers erased three Lions leads in route to their win Tuesday afternoon. Murray State battled back to tie the game in both the seventh and ninth innings. Their win marked the sixth such come from behind win for the Racers in the eighth inning or later.
In the ninth inning, MSU tied the game on a Nico Bermeo single that scored Jackson McCoy to make it 11-11.
Luke Mistone went 4-5 on the afternoon for Murray State. All of his hits came in front of Racers RBI hits as Mistone scored three runs in the game before he was lifted for a pinch runner in the ninth.
Dustin Mercer extended his on base streak to 12 games as he went 2-5 with a walk.
Jack Wajda earned the win for Murray State. The right hander from Illinois did not allow an earned run in 2.1 innings pitched.
Murray State returns to action tomorrow against Lindenwood. First pitch is scheduled for 3PM.
