Racers Push MVC Win Streak to 12 on Shutout of Valparaiso

The Racers’ conference winning streak dates back to their MVC championship in 2024
Murray State women's tennis kept their winning ways Sunday when they defeated the Valparaiso Beacons 7-0 to push their Missouri Valley Conference winning streak to 12 which dates to a year ago when the Racers won MSU's first league title.
Going indoors to Kenlake Tennis Center in Aurora, Kentucky, the Racers won for the sixth-straight time this spring and are 2-0 in The Valley and 9-6 overall.
With a strong doubles game, the Racers won the pairs point and made a clean sweep of the six singles matches for the 7-0 win with two walk-over points when injuries prevented the Beacons from fielding all nine matches.
"We played some of our most dominant tennis of the year today," said MSU Head Coach Jorge Caetano. "We've put in the work and it's paying off and I am very happy with the way we are playing right now. This entire season has been challenging, but our team is responding the right way. We've gotten off to a great start in The Valley and we are hungry for more."
The Racers are looking forward to playing at home after facing 11 matches on the road this spring and only four at home to date. MSU still has three home matches coming up this week at Purcell Courts, Friday and next Sunday against Illinois State (April 4), Bradley (April 6) and Belmont (April 10).
All MSU home matches are planned for outdoors at Bennie Purcell Courts, but will be moved indoors to Kenlake if weather causes a move. The best way to check on the status of home matches is on the team's X account @RacersWTennis.
