Murray State dominant in 88-60 win over Evansville on Thursday night
Murray State women's basketball put together a dominant performance in a 88-60 win over Evansville on Thursday night at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse in Evansville, Indiana. Katelyn Young once again led the Racers with a 31 point performance to surpass 2,900 career points, becoming the 21st player in NCAA Division I history to reach that mark.
Halli Poock poured in 17 points and seven assists as Haven Ford neared a triple double with 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Ava Learn picked up another double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Briley Pena went a perfect three-for-three from behind the three point line and knocked down two free throws for 11 points of her own.Â
The win gives the Racers 15 wins in the Missouri Valley Conference this season as they sit atop the standings, tied with Missouri State for first place with one regular season game to play.
MSU travels to Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday to take on Indiana State. A win in Saturday's game would give the Racers at least a share of the MVC Regular Season title.
