Racers Claim Back-to-Back MVC Regular Season Championships

MSU has won 18 consecutive matches in their two-year run in The Valley
Murray State women's tennis became outright Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season Champions for the second consecutive year, after a pair of wins in Iowa on Friday and Saturday over Northern Iowa and Drake.
The Racers have won 18-straight MVC matches in the last two seasons and in running the table 8-0 in 2025, Coach Jorge Caetano has the Racers in the same spot as a year ago, hoping for the same result.
"I think this season was set in motion by a tough pre-league schedule and then we rolled right into MVC play with a lot of confidence," Caetano said. "We started 1-5, but here we are on top with another championship in The Valley. It speaks volumes about how we were able to develop and get better as the season progressed. I enjoy coaching this group because they listen and they try to get better. We played a little on the nervous side yesterday against UNI, but today I thought we were locked in and closed this one out on Drake's Senior Day, because the really played well and brought the energy. We've got to continue to push and push heading into next week's tournament at Valparaiso."
The MVC Tournament is hosted by Valparaiso University (April 25-27). The Racers have secured the No. 1 seed with their first match happening Saturday (April 26) against a yet to be determined opponent.
