Racers Fall to UIC in MVC Championship Match

The Racers amazing season included winning back-to-back MVC regular season titles

The Murray State Racers dropped the final match of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Sunday in a 4-0 defeat to the UIC Flames at The Valpo Tennis Complex in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The Racers' winning streak in MVC matches is halted at 19 and the team finishes with a 16-7 mark and their 13-match win streak this season also came to an end.

After dropping the doubles point, the Racers were behind in four of the six single matches with the Flames after the first set and it was a deficit MSU was unable to overcome.

However, the amazing run for the Racers over the last two years have netted back-to-back MVC regular season titles and after advancing to the NCAA Tournament a season ago, the Racers fell short this time.

MSU says goodbye to seniors Paola Campigotto and Maggie Smith.
