Racers Tie Program Record – Purvis Goes Low at Audubon

The Racers are playing the Audubon GC in Memphis for the first time
The Murray State men's golf team tied the team single round record when they fired a 150-under-par 269 in the second round of the Grover Page Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Racers set the mark in two seasons ago in an event at Arkansas State
Playing the The Links at Audubon GC, the Racers were 13 shots better than their morning 282 and their 551 total was good for a spot in third place in the field of 13 teams. The Racers are two shots behind second place UT Martin and nine shots from first place Central Arkansas.
Trey Wall led the Racers in the first 36 holes with scores of 72-64=136 and was part of a group of nine players within three shots of the leader from UTM, John Wilson at 133. Wall's 7-under-par 64 in the second round allowed him to move up 37 spots in the field of 95 players.
MSU Redshirt Freshman, Peyton Purvis, was MSU's low scorer overall with a spot in second place with a score line of 70=65=135, is only playing his second event as a Racer. He was only two shots from the Leader Wilson. Purvis moved up 16 spots with his second round 6-under-par 65.
