Racers Extend Winning Streaks – Take Down Valparaiso

MSU moved to 7-0 in the MVC and pushed their home and overall win streaks to 11
The Murray State Racers ran their overall and home winning streaks to 11 Saturday with a 92-79 win over the Valparaiso Beacons at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers (15-3) remained undefeated in the Missouri Valley Conference at (7-0). The Racers don't have a mid-week game next week and return to action at home (Jan. 17) against Indiana State on MSU Hall of Fame Weekend.
Javon Jackson scored 21 points for his eight game this season of 20 or more points on 6-of-12 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Roman Domon added 18 points on 6-of-8 from the field, while Brayden Shorter had his MSU-best 17 points on 5-of-10 from the 3-point line. Fred King added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
When Shorter nailed a 3-pointer with four seconds left in the first half, the Racers enjoyed a 45-36 lead at halftime.
Leading by as many as 12 points with 8:00 left, the beacons got as close as four points with 3:31 remaining.
Jackson and Domon were key to the Racers finishing the game with a win, after they combined to score MSU's final 15 points.

- Jackson extended his streak of making a 3-pointer to 11 games, a season-best for the Racers, ahead of the 10-game streak Shorter had earlier in the season.
- Jackson has 22 career games of 20-point scoring.

- MSU's 12 3-pointers marks the 10th game this season of double-digits.
- 14 of MSU's wins this season have included the Racers getting to the 80-point mark first.
- When MSU scores 80 points this season, they are 14-2 with their only losses coming to SMU and Middle Tennessee.
