Huels Named to Preseason All-MVC First Team

The sophomore hit .333 with 23 RBI in 2025.
Sophomore Katy Huels of Murray State Softball was named to the 2026 Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team as announced by the league office in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday afternoon.
As a freshman, Huels was one of the leading hitters for the Racers, batting .333 across 162 at-bats. Her on-base percentage of .380 led the team, as did her 12 walks, five triples, and 29 runs.
During the 2025 season, the Carlyle, Illinois native had a 17-game hitting streak, the second longest in program history. Following the season, she was named to the All-MVC First Team.
The 2026 Racer softball season kicks off on February 6 at the Alabama State University Stinger Classic in Montgomery, Alabama. The Racers will open tournament play against Nicholls at 11:15 a.m. CT.
