The Racers are currently fourth in the MVC standings after a series win over the Valparaiso Beacons, while Evansville is in seventh after sweeping Indiana State in a midweek doubleheader.
After dropping the opening game of their series against the Beacons, the Racers won the last two games of the series while benefiting from excellent pitching and clutch hitting. Kynadee Warner provided the clutch hit in game two of the series with a walk-off RBI single that handed the Racers a 7-6 win, and drove in one of the Racers two runs in a 2-0 win in the rubber match. In the Saturday win, Karlye Graber went the distance without allowing a run and giving up just seven hits.Â
Murray State continues to be one of the top base running teams in the MVC, second in the conference with 39 stolen bases, and with two players near the top of the conference individually. Kynadee Warner and Katy Huels are tied for fourth in the conference with nine steals each. Following a weekend where she hit .500, Warner leads the Racers with a batting average of .375 and 30 hits. Senior Bailey Broemmer leads the team with 12 RBI and three home runs while hitting .323, and is tied with freshman Allie Waldron to lead the team with 14 runs scored. Waldron leads the team with four doubles and 13 walks.Â
Karlye Graber (5-4) features a 3.56 ERA across a team-high 57 innings pitched and leads the team with 43 strikeouts. Bre Haislip (3-3) has an ERA of 3.28 across 53 1/3 innings pitched with 32 strikeouts and three complete games. Emily Siurek has a team-low 3.20 ERA across 19 2/3 innings. Â
