The Racers closed out the 2025-26 season at the CFSB Center ahead of major renovations to the Racers’ home court
The Murray State Racers scored an 88-75 victory on Senior Day over the Evansville Purple Aces at the CFSB Center on Saturday afternoon in Murray, Kentucky.
Â
The Racers (20-10) moved to 12-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference making Head Coach Ryan Miller the fourth MSU rookie head coach in the modern area (since 1948) to win 20.
Â
With their open week ahead, the Racers return to action on March 1, in a 1 p.m. game at Bradley. The final game of the regular season takes the team into the postseason at the MVC Tournament-State Farm Arch Madness (March 5-8) in St. Louis.
Â
Roman Domon and KJ Tenner each scored 20 points to lead the Racers, while Javon Jackson added 13.
Â
Breaking a slow period of shooting when the Racers went 2-of-15, Brayden Shorter scored the rarest of rare 5-point play. He hit a 3-pointer from the wing and nearly simultaneously, the UE bench was hit with a technical foul. Shorter made both free throws to cut the Aces lead to 28-19. Evansville started the game hot in making 6-of-9 from the 3-point line to get their largest lead of 14, just before Shorter's outburst.
Â
The Racers took their first lead of the game with 26 seconds in the half on a Mathis Courbon fast break layup and a pair of free throws from Tenner.
Â
MSU finished the half on a 14-3 run to lead at the intermission 37-36.
Â
In the second half, MSU had a 10-0 run in 90 seconds that included a 4-point play by Domon and Fred King for a 59-48 lead with 10:17 remaining.
Â
Evansville couldn't get any closer than nine points the rest of the way.
