The Racers get the spring season going in late February in New Orleans
Murray State's men's golf team has been selected third in the Missouri Valley Conference as announced from the league office in St. Louis.
In a vote by the MVC head coaches, the Racers have lots of reasons to be competitive and chase the conference title in late April.
In the poll of the Top-5 that was released, the Racers are third in the preseason poll behind No. 1 Southern Illinois and No. 2 Illinois State. The rest of the top-5 after the Racers at No. 3, was Drake and Belmont.
"With the 2026 spring season getting underway this month, the men and I are looking forward to hitting the road and seeing what kind of scores we can produce," said Head Coach Jacob Miller, who is in his fourth season with the Racers. "We have a terrific schedule this spring that will help get us prepared for the MVC Championship in April."
The 2026 MVC Men's Championship will be played at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill., on Sunday-Monday-Tuesday (April 26-28). Illinois State is the host institution for this year's event. Last year, Illinois State earned a three-stroke victory over second-place Murray State in a 54-hole championship that went down to the wire. Murray State's Trey Wall took medalist honors at Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship at the par-72, 7,267-yard Des Moines Golf & Country Club (North Course) in West Des Moines, Iowa.
The Racers' spring schedule gets underway (Feb. 23-24) at the Gulf Coasst Collegiate at Bayou Oaks Country Club in New Orleans, Louisiana.
