Martin, Salafia, Soulé Wrap up Season at NCAA Championships

The three Racers competed as individuals.
Caroline Martin, Carlotta Salafia, and Lea Soulé all represented Murray State Rifle as individuals this weekend at the 2026 NCAA Rifle Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
Soulé and Salafia competed in the smallbore category on Friday. Soulé fired a 589 on the day, placing 12th in the category. The Osceola, Texas native finishes her freshman season with a smallbore average of 589.188. Salafia fired a 586, placing 20th and ending her season with an average of 586.714.
Caroline Martin competed in air rifle on Saturday, placing 16th in the category. The junior fired a 597 on the day to wrap up the season with an air rifle average of 594.067.
"All three shot almost exactly their average," said head coach Alan Lollar. "That's all I ever ask at this match. Very good weekend. They buy into what we are doing. Next year will be fun."
On the season, the Racers captured their 20th all-time Ohio Valley Conference Championship, giving Lollar his 12th as the Racers' head man, tied for most all-time at Murray State.
Carlotta Salafia was named OVC Air Rifle Athlete of the Year, while Lea Soulé was named Fresiman of the Year and Smallbore Athlete of the Year. Caroline Martin joined Salafia and Soulé on the Air Rifle First Team, and Soulé and Salafia represented Murray State on the Smallbore First Team. Martin was named to the Smallbore Second Team. Soulé appeared on both the Smallbore and Air Rifle All Newcomer teams.
