Racers see impressive spike in ticket renewals and sales during year one of Ryan Miller Era
Murray State men's basketball capped off a successful first year of the Ryan Miller era in record-setting fashion by posting the highest single-season ticket revenue in school history thanks to the unwavering support of Racer Nation.
Boasting a 12-3 home record under Miller in 2025-26, the department realized a 25 percent increase in ticket revenue in a season that saw the team reach the 20-win mark and earn an at-large berth to the postseason National Invitation Tournament.
"It is no surprise that we experienced this success with Coach Miller at the helm of our men's basketball program," Murray State University President Dr. Ron Patterson said. "We enjoy some of the best crowds in the Missouri Valley Conference, and are excited to show the nation what our fanbase is all about for years to come after this record-setting season."
"Racer Nation showed out in a big way to support Coach Miller's team and staff in their first season in Murray," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "We are incredibly grateful for the never-ending support of our fans, investors, and alumni, and are looking forward to year two of the Miller era inside the newly-renovated CFSB Center."
The excitement for the 2025-26 campaign and Miller's first year came well before the ball was tipped, when the department saw a 92 percent renewal rate for season tickets. The renewal percentage was the program's largest since 2022.
"On behalf of everyone within our program, we want to thank Racer Nation for showing up at the CFSB Center and creating an intimidating environment for opposing teams," Miller said. "This success shows the relentless support that our fans provide, and we do not take that support for granted. We are fired up to play in front of them in the new CFSB Center in 2026-27."
Murray State experienced one if its largest crowds in program history on January 17, 2026, when 8,083 fans watched the Racers defeat Indiana State. The crowd was the 12th largest all-time in program history and marked the 14th time in school history with a crowd of more than 8,000 fans.
The Racers finished the year averaging 5,233 per contest.
While Murray State remains laser focused on competitive excellence during the golden era of Racer Athletics, the department will embark on a bold, comprehensive $100 million fundraising campaign, Leading The Pack, to further position itself for the future by investing in student-athlete success and wellness, revenue share and competitive resources and world-class facilities.
