Murray State Athletics Receives Anonymous $1.25 Million Gift

Investment will support departmental strategic initiatives, capital projects, and revenue share
Murray State Athletics has received a transformational $1.25 million anonymous gift from a generous family of longtime Racer supporters in Murray, providing another significant investment in the continued growth and future of the department.

The commitment will support the Vision For Excellence Fund as part of Murray State Athletics' historic Leading The Pack campaign. The investment will provide resources to advance departmental strategic initiatives, ongoing capital projects and revenue sharing while giving Racer Athletics additional flexibility to address emerging opportunities within the rapidly-evolving landscape of intercollegiate athletics.

"This extraordinary investment represents another powerful example of the belief Racer Nation has in the vision and future of Murray State Athletics," Murray State University President Dr. Ron Patterson said. "We are incredibly grateful to this family for their generosity and commitment to Murray State. As we continue to lead the pack, transformational support like this allows us to invest in opportunities that strengthen our University, enhance the student-athlete experience and position Racer Athletics for sustained success for generations to come."

There is an incredible amount of progress happening across the athletics footprint, with more than $60 million worth of capital projects having already been completed or that are currently ongoing. Most notably, the transformation of the CFSB Center is moving closer to completion as basketball season approaches.

The department also recently announced Racer Sports & Entertainment, LLC, a University-affiliated auxiliary enterprise that will allow Murray State to accelerate commercial growth, drive innovation, and support the long-term success of Racer Athletics while also serving as the lead driver of the previously announced Racer Entertainment Village.

Murray State Athletics has raised $54 million dollars in support of new facilities, initiatives and championship resources as part of the department's bold, comprehensive $100 million fundraising campaign, Leading The Pack, which was created to further position itself for the future by investing in student-athlete success, revenue share and competitive resources and world-class facilities.
