April Horning – Women’s Tennis, 1980-1984
Leads Racers in career doubles wins at 100, the only player to attain 100 wins in either singles or doubles. Led team in doubles for four straight years with four different partners. All-OVC selection in both 1983 and 1984. Member of 1984 OVC Championship team.
April has been teaching Health and Physical Education at her alma mater Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, IL since 1986. She has coached basketball, softball and tennis. Although she is not currently coaching any sport.
Her ASA softball (fast pitch) team won a state championship in Illinois in 1987.
In 1994, her fast pitch team finished 7th in the nation and played against several of the ’96 US Olympic Softball players.
In 2002, her 5.0 USTA Team out of Belleville/St. Louis won nationals in Palm Springs, CA.
