Wes Cunningham - Baseball 2007-2010

Cunningham, out of Louisville, Ky., was a three-time First Team All-OVC selection at Murray State and the OVC Player of the Year in 2010. His amazing senior season included a .408 batting average to go with 22 home runs, 86 RBIs and scoring 77 runs. His 192 total bases and 86 RBIs in 2010 are OVC single-season records.

Cunningham is MSU's all-time leader in career batting average (.399), hits (237), triples (14), Runs Batted In (167) and total bases (406) and he's is third all-time with 161 runs scored and fifth with 35 home runs. His name appears 17 times in the Murray State single-season top-10 lists across 11 statistical categories.
Cunningham was also an excellent student who majored in history. He was a three-time ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District selection and was a 2010 ESPN The Magazine Second Team All-American. Cunningham was also honored by Collegiate Baseball as a Louisville Slugger Third Team All-American and was a Ping! Baseball second team honoree as well. Cunningham was one of 30 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy, honoring the top player in collegiate baseball in 2010.

Cunningham joins Daniel Calhoun as the only two All-Americans in the storied history of Thoroughbred baseball that dates back to 1924.

The Murray State Male Athlete of the Year winner in 2010, Cunningham was selected in the 17th Round of the Major League Baseball Player Draft by the San Diego Padres.
Cunningham is the 18th baseball player to be inducted into the Murray State Hall of Fame.
