Murray State scored four runs in the third and sixth innings and Adam Bauer and Jack Hranec each drove in three as the Racers defeated Memphis Tuesday night at Reagan Field, 10-6.

The Racers (11-12) and Bauer got going right away in the first with a pair of runs. Bauer hit a triple in the inning to bring home Cody Gilbert and two batters later, Ramsey Scott grounded-out to second base to score Bauer for the early 2-0 lead.

Memphis (8-12) got a run of its own in the top of the second and eventually took its only lead of the game with a pair of runs in the third inning to make it 3-2. The Racers didn't trail for long though, as a Kipp Moore sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning tied the game at 3-3 and then Hranec blasted his first home run of the year the next at-bat, a three-run shot to deep right center field put MSU up 6-3. The Racers wouldn't trail the rest of the way.

The Tigers made things interesting however in the sixth inning with a pair of runs, cutting the MSU lead to just 6-5 before MSU responded again with another four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bauer's second triple of the game started the scoring in the inning, pushing the lead to 8-5. RBI singles from Tyler Lawrence and Caleb Hicks later in the frame pushed it to 10-5.

Hranec recorded a career-high three hits in the win, while Bauer and Tyler Dixon added two hits each. Dixon, who transferred from Memphis, went 2-for-2 with a double and a pair of walks with a run scored. Bauer also led MSU with three runs while Lawrence scored twice.

Austin Dubsky got the start and his second consecutive win on the evening. Dubsky pitched 5.1 innings and allowed five runs, three of which were earned, on eight hits while striking out three and walking three. MSU relied heavily on its bullpen as well in the win, using a total of five relievers.

The Racers return to OVC action Thursday as they head to Clarksville, Tenn., for a three-game series with Austin Peay. Thursday and Friday's games will both be at 6 p.m. with a 1 p.m. start time in Saturday's finale.
