Murray State was held scoreless the final six innings of the contest and Southeast Missouri used three multi-run innings to win the series finale over the Racers, 7-4 Saturday in Cape Girardeau.

The Redhawks (31-12, 20-4 OVC) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. MSU (22-23, 10-11 OVC) was able to cut the deficit to 2-1 with an RBI single from Reed Thompson in the second inning.

After another two-run inning from SEMO made it 4-1 in the favor of the Redhawks, the Racers were able to fight back to tie the game at 4-4 with back-to-back home runs from Tyler Lawrence and Ramsey Scott in the top of the third. Lawrence's two-run blast was his eighth homer of the year, whiles Scott's, which came on the first pitch he saw, was his 11^th. Scott hit .545 and had two homers and four ribbies in the series back in his hometown.

SEMO was able to regain the lead that it wouldn't relinquish in the fourth inning with a three-run frame. From there on out, the Redhawks bullpen was able to shut the door as it combined for 6.1 innings of scoreless baseball.

Scott was the only Racer with multiple hits in the loss as he went 2-for-3. Kipp Moore went 1-for-3 with a double and a run while Adam Bauer went 1-for-4 at the dish with a run of his own. Both teams collected nine hits in the contest.

John Lollar got the start on the hill for MSU and pitched 3.1 innings and allowed five runs, four of which were earned. Tyler Anderson and Austin Dubsky combined to pitch 4.2 innings of shutout baseball and allowed just one hit each.

The Racers return to action Tuesday as they travel to face Evansville. The game with the Purple Aces was originally scheduled for May 10 but was moved up a week. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. UE defeated the Racers 2-1 a couple of weeks ago in Murray.
