Racers Set Their Focus On Morehead And Saint Louis

Murray State battles their first conference opponent of the year with a trip to Morehead State on Thursday at 6 P.M, while they face Saint Louis at Cutchin Field on Sunday at 2 P.M.
Last Time On Racer Soccer…
The Murray State Racers (5-0) only needed a small portion of overtime to get the job done, as Harriet Withers struck a ball at the 20 yard mark into the top right corner of the net to secure a 4-3 victory over Little Rock (3-3) just 50 seconds into the extra frame at Cutchin Field in Murray, Ky
It Never Gets Old
With a 5-0 start to the year, the Racers have been on fire. They haven't lost a regular season game since September 20 of last year, where they fell to Saint Louis 0-1 in double overtime on the road. The last time the Racers were defeated at home in the regular season was also against Saint Louis, this time going back to September 27 of 2015 where the Racers fell 0-2.

With her two goals scored against Little Rock, Withers stands just one goal away from tying the all-time career goal mark of 34. Theresa Reedy, who graduated in 2004 is the current record holder Along with that, Withers is now tied third in the nation for total goals with eight.
Sharing The Wealth
Totaling three assists in the contest,  Miyah Watford is now tied for the most assists in a single game by a Racer. Rebecca Bjorkvall was the last Racer to reach this mark back in 2013. It has been done now five times in MSU history.

First up is Eagles of Morehead State. The Eagles are 1-5 overall coming into this game. Their lone win came against Chattanooga on September 3, where the Eagles won 2-0. The Eagles have scored just five goals on the year with a total of 47 shots taken. Four Eagles are tied for first on the team in goals, all with one each. Michelle Wahsburn has done her best to keep the Eagles in games, making 45 saves  in her six starts.
The Billikens of Saint Louis come to Cutchin Field on Sunday to finish out the week. Saint Louis stands at 6-0-1 out of the Atlantic-10 conference and will be the last non-conference opponent the Racers face this year. As of now, Saint Louis has scored 17 goals in their seven games while holding their opponents to just three. They are also out shooting their opponents close to a two to one rate, taking 119 and keeping their opponents to 64. Maddie Pokorny is the leading goal scorer for the Billikens with four goals. They also have a player with three and three players with two goals as well.
