Coach Caetano Earns 100th Career Win in Racers MVC Tournament Debut

Murray State advances to the semi-finals in the MVC tournament.
The Racers started the match in dominating fashion. Starting in the second flight of doubles, Sarah Bureau and Annika Pschorr defeated their opponents (6-1). Following in the first flight, Emma Honore and Natalie Slezakova clinched the doubles point for the Racers, winning their match (6-2). Paola Campigotto and Marit Kreugel's match was unfinished but stopped with a lead at (5-1).
Natalie Slezakova was the first Racer to give MSU another point. She kept great control of her entire match, winning (6-0), (6-4) in the fourth flight. Paola Campigotto helped lead the Racers to their third point. She won her match in three sets, coming back to win (6-1), (6-8), (6-2). Annika Pschorr clinched the match for the Racers defeating her opponents in three sets (8-6), (4-6), (6-3).
"I believe this was one of our best matches from start to finish. We played some incredible doubles and it set the tone for the rest of the match. We didn't have any mental mistakes and the girls competed their hearts out from the first until the last ball," said head coach Jorge Caetano.
"We knew it was going to come down to a couple of points here and there and we were able to execute well under pressure and get the win over a strong UIC team. We are looking forward and excited for a rematch against Illinois State tomorrow!"
In their first-round win of the MVC tournament, coach Jorge Caetano reached a career milestone of 100 career wins.
