
Wooldridge Secures First Career Win At WKU Invite

Six Racers finished the race in the top 10 leading Murray State to a team win.
The Murray State women's cross country team nearly had a full sweep on its way to a team win at the WKU XC Invite 6K in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Friday with four of the five counting scores finishing in the top 5. The Racers scored 16 team points, defeating the second-place finishers by 59.
MSU never lost the team lead throughout the duration of the race. Five runners held the top five places on the leaderboard at the 5,530-meter mark.
Freshman Kaydee Wooldridge notched her first collegiate victory after finishing just under 20 seconds in front of teammate Ruth Kimutai with a time of 23:06.7. Kimutai finished with a time of 23:26.2.
Alyssa Moore bested her collegiate debut finish after placing third in her second-career race, coming in just a second after Kimutai with a time of 23:27.4.
Allison Wood took a fourth-place finish at the Invite with a time of 24:00.7, just 0.9 seconds ahead of Cumberland's Mercy Kibiwott. Jocelyn Host rounded out the counting scores for Murray State with a sixth-place finish. She ended the day with a time of 24:05.2.
The Racers return to competition when they travel to Columbia, Missouri, for the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri on September 29th.
