Racers to Host Top MVC Foes

Murray State will host Northern Iowa and Drake for a pair of MVC contests.

The Murray State Racers (12-8, 7-4 MVC) return home to host the UNI Panthers (16-7, 11-0 MVC) and Drake Bulldogs (14-8, 10-1 MVC) at Racer Arena. Â
ÂWinners of three straight, the Racers are currently fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference. UNI is in first with an undefeated MVC record, and Drake is in second. Their only conference loss was at the hands of the Panthers.
ÂThe Racer have faced both UNI and Drake previously this season. The Navy & Gold dropped a five-set contest to the Bulldogs in Des Moines, Iowa on October 11 and fell to the Panthers 3-1 in Cedar Falls on October 12.
ÂThe Racers continue to be one of the better offensive teams in the MVC, averaging 13.06 kills per set and hitting .208 on the season. Bailey DeMier once again sits atop the conference, averaging 9.77 assists per set.Â
ÂDeMier is nearing the all-time assists record for Murray State, as she is up to a career mark of 4,317. The current all-time record of 4,580 is owned by Kristi Hoffman, a Racer from 1994-97. Â
ÂElla Vogel is third in the MVC in kills and points per set, averaging 3.95 kills and 4.45 points per set. Dahlia Miller is currently third in the MVC and fifth in the nation in digs per set with an average of 5.39 and 447 on the season. Â
ÂThe Panthers lead the MVC in kills, points, assists, and hitting percentage. They also boast several of the conference's best offensive performers. Kira Fallert and Cassidy Hartman lead the team with 309 and 273 kills on the season and are in the top ten in the conference in kills per set. Kaci Rewers adds 126 kills and is hitting .333 on the season. Rewerts is second in the MVC in block, averaging 1.44 per set with a total of 115 on the season. Â
ÂFor the Bulldogs, Macy Daufelt is second in the MVC with 333 kills on the season and an average of 4.16 per set. Addison Beagle is the primary facilitator for the team 630 total assists and an average of 7.88 per set. Jada Wills leads the team with 547 digs and averages 6.84 per set while Bliss Beck leads the team with 76 total blocks. As a team, the Bulldogs are hitting .207 and lead the MVC with an average of 18.29 digs per set. Â
