Racers Drop Matches on the Road in South Carolina

Racers struggle to find groove in road trip to the Palmetto State
Murray State women's tennis dropped three matches on a road trip to South Carolina. The Racers faced Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, and Coastal Carolina as their last non conference matches of the spring season. Murray State is now 7-5 on the spring season.
On Saturday, the Racers faced Charleston Southern. MSU started off the match with close doubles matchups, with pair Sarah Bureau and Annika Pschorr picking up the first win of the day. The Racers earned their points with singles wins from freshman Valeria Chaikovskaia and Marit Kreugel. Charleston Southern clinched the match with a win over MSU's Annika Pschorr, defeating the Racers 5-2.
On Monday, the Racers traveled to take on College of Charleston. They picked up the doubles point in dominating fashion, with all pairs winning their respective matches. The first three singles flights struggled in their matches, while Varya Alexeyeva earned her match win in a dominating third set, going 6-0. The Cougars clinched the match with the first singles flight, defeating the Racers 4-3.
The Racers wrapped up their road trip on Wednesday with a match against Coastal Carolina. MSU started off strong with another doubles point win. The Racers are now 25-6 in doubles matches for the spring season. MSU struggled in their singles matches, with the Chants going undefeated in singles play. CCU defeated MSU in their final match of the week, 6-1.
