Racers continue their hot start to conference play with win over Bears
Murray State women's tennis defeated Missouri State on Friday, 5-2. The Racers are now 9-5 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
The Racers started out the afternoon dominating doubles play. Doubles pairs Emma Honore/Natalie Slezakova and Sarah Bureau/Annika Pschorr won their respective matches 6-2, while Paola Campigotto/Marit Kreugel swept their opponents 6-0. Campigotto and Kreugel are now 11-2 for the spring season.
Heading into singles play, Campigotto and Kreugel extended their winning streak, both defeating their opponents. Kreugel defeated Missouri State's Nicole Ross in straight sets, with her overall singles record being 7-1. Campigotto, Emma Honore, and Sarah Bureau all fought hard in their matches, each breaking tiebreakers that led to set wins. With Honore's tiebreaker in the second set, the Racers clinched the match win.
