Outstanding Omaha – Racers Squarely in CWS Spotlight vs UCLA

The Murray State Racers have gone through the media car wash, seen all the sights and signed autographs for the kids.

Now it's time for them to play for the first time in the College World Series Saturday at 1 p.m. against the UCLA Bruins at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

The game can be heard on Froggy 103.7 FM with Jeff Bidwell and Harold Huston calling the action. On television, ESPN airs the game with Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez, Ben McDonald, Dani Wexelman providing commentary.

Game Day Story Lines

2025 is the 86th season of collegiate baseball at Murray State & third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
MSU is in their fourth NCAA appearance (1975, 1979, 2003, 2025).
The Racers are 7-8 all-time in the NCAA Tournament after three wins at the Oxford Regional and two at the Durham Super Regional.
MSU was the 10th No. 4 seed to start 2-0 since the current format was adopted in 1999.
MSU was the 10th No. 4 seed to reach the Supers following fellow Missouri Valley Conference member Evansville last year.
The Racers are the first MVC team to advance to the CWS since Missouri State in 2003.
MSU's 44 wins in 2025, is a program record, as they have bested the 40 wins by the 1975 team.
MSU has won 29 of their last 35 games. MSU started 15-5, but is 30-7 since.
Murray State is the 11th different MVC program to compete in the CWS since the Valley's first showing in 1950, and it marks the 20th appearance overall.
Since the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament was expanded to 64 teams in 1999, Murray State is just the fourth regional No. 4 seed to make it to Omaha.
The Racers join Fresno State (2008), Stony Brook (2012), and most recently, Oral Roberts (2023).
MSU has already set eight program records on offense (AB, R, 2B, 3B, RBI, G, Wins).
Jonathan Hogart is tied for MSU season record of 22 home runs, Carson Garner is two RBI from the MSU career mark and Dustin Mercer is three runs from the career record.
MSU's postseason run has created more than 8M views so far on team's X, Facebook and Instagram accounts and that is only going to go higher this week in Omaha.
