Murray, Ky. – Following a road loss at Xavier, the Racers move onward to face an undefeated Marshall team at Cutchin Field.
The Racers enter Sunday's contest with a 2-3-0 record, with both wins coming at home. After the road loss in Cincinnati, they look to get the offense going as they still seek their first goal in the opening half.
Both wins for Murray State have been 1-0 victories, with strong defensive play in each home match so far this season. The defense has been led by standout performances from Megan Wilson and Griselda Revolorio, both earning MVC weekly honors through the first two weeks of the season.
Sophomore Breece Bass is poised for a breakout season, leading the Racers in shots and shots on goal, with one goal so far. With Bass finding her rhythm on offense, MSU is positioned well to continue its strong play at home.
The Racers lead the all-time series against Marshall 1-0-1, with both previous matches hosted in Murray.
Marshall enters with a 4-0-0 record, the program's best start in 17 seasons. The Thundering Herd are led by Bailey Fisher, who paces the team in shots, shots on goal, points and goals. Her 20 shots rank second in the Sun Belt Conference through four games.
The Racers will host Marshall at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, at Cutchin Field.
