MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State goes for a second straight Missouri Valley Conference win Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field, hosting a UIC side it has never beaten in Murray in a series that has produced more draws than decisions.
The Racers are 1-1-4 all time against the Flames, with four of the six meetings since 2022 ending in draws and two of those settled by penalty kicks in the Missouri Valley Tournament. Murray State is 0-0-2 against UIC at Cutchin Field, having drawn 1-1 in October 2022 and again in September 2024. The lone win in the series came last Oct. 23 in Chicago, a 2-1 where Ava Roberson scored twice, recording her first career brace. The teams met again 15 days later in the conference tournament semifinal in Murray, a 1-1 draw decided in penalty kicks in the MVC tournament.
Murray State looks to build off its best win of the season. The Racers beat Valparaiso 3-0 on Oct. 4 for their first league win, with Breece Bass, Kate Donoghue and Gabby Ramdeen all scoring and Griselda Revolorio making seven saves for a clean sheet. It was Murray State's second win of the year, both by 3-0 and both at home.
- Senior goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio was named Missouri Valley Goalkeeper of the Week after the Valparaiso shutout, her third of the season. She has 57 saves, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .781 save percentage, and has played all 1,080 minutes.
- Junior Abbey MacDonald took Defender of the Week for her part in the shutout. She has started all 12 matches, has also played every minute of the season and has committed two fouls all year.
- Bass leads Murray State with seven points on two goals and three assists. Her 32 shots are more than twice as many as any teammate.
- Eight different Racers have scored in 2026. Bass and Ramdeen reached two goals apiece with each scoring once against Valparaiso and are the only Murray State players with more than one.
- Eight of Murray State's 11 goals have come in the second half, and nine of the 11 have been scored at Cutchin Field, where the Racers are 2-3-1.
Scouting the Flames
UIC is 1-8-2 and still looking for its first Missouri Valley point, sitting 0-3-0 after losses to Belmont, Illinois State and Drake. The Flames have dropped three straight, most recently 2-0 at Drake on Oct. 4, and their only win came Sept. 10, a 2-0 home decision over Western Illinois.
UIC has scored six times in 11 matches, fewest in the conference and five fewer than Murray State, and has been shut out seven times. The Flames get the ball forward well enough, putting 63 of their 134 shots on target for a 47 percent rate better than Murray State's, but have converted fewer than one in 10 of those attempts. Grace Lisota has three of the six goals and leads UIC with six points, while Camryn Ries has taken a team-high 23 shots.
At the other end UIC has conceded 19 goals and recorded three shutouts, the same number as Murray State. Goalkeeper Sidney Lazenby has started seven matches with a 1.29 goals-against average and two clean sheets.
