MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State takes its first winning streak of the season to Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, where the Racers meet one of two Missouri Valley Conference teams still unbeaten in league play.
In a two-match homestand Murray State beat Valparaiso 3-0 on Oct. 4 and UIC 1-0 on Oct. 11, two clean sheets that lifted the Racers to 2-2-0 in conference play. Senior goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio was named Missouri Valley Goalkeeper of the Week in back-to-back weeks for her past two performances, and junior Abbey MacDonald took Defender of the Week after her performance vs. Valparaiso.
Drake has been the hardest team in the league to score against. The Bulldogs have allowed just seven goals in 13 matches for a 0.54 goals-against average and have seven shutouts, and they have outshot their opponents 173-84 on the season.
- Revolorio has four shutouts, 61 saves, a 1.23 goals-against average and a .792 save percentage. She has played every minute in goal this season and has made 61 of Murray State's 62 team saves.
- MacDonald has started all 13 matches and, like Revolorio, has not missed a minute. She has committed three fouls all season.
- Junior forward Breece Bass leads the Racers in goals (3), assists (3), points (9), shots (33) and shots on goal (13). She has scored in back-to-back matches and owns two of Murray State's three game-winners.
- Eight different Racers have scored in 2026. Bass has three, Gabby Ramdeen two and the other six one apiece.
- Murray State has four shutouts in 13 matches after posting two in its first 11, and has allowed one goal or fewer in six of its last eight.
- The Racers are 0-5-1 on the road with two goals in six away matches. Murray State is 0-1-1 all time in Des Moines, and Drake leads the series 3-2-1.
- Common opponents: both teams beat Valparaiso and UIC in league play. Murray State won 3-0 and 1-0 at home; Drake won 4-0 at Valparaiso and 2-0 over UIC.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Drake is 8-3-2 and sits second in the Missouri Valley at 3-0-1, a point behind Southern Illinois and the only team in the league with a draw rather than a loss in conference play. The Bulldogs opened with a 4-0 win at Valparaiso, beat Evansville 2-1 and UIC 2-0, then dropped their first point in a 1-1 draw at Indiana State on Oct. 11. Their three losses came at Wyoming and at Colorado College in August and at South Dakota on Sept. 6.
The attack runs through Angela Gutierrez, who has nine of Drake's 27 goals and leads the Bulldogs with 23 points and 41 shots. Zoey Mahoney has six of the team's 34 assists. Drake has drawn 62 corner kicks to its opponents' 45.
Addie Ford has made six starts with a 0.43 goals-against average, 19 saves and two shutouts, and Kate Hopma has made seven with a 0.67 mark, 12 saves and two shutouts. Drake has needed only 31 saves all season. Murray State has 62.
The Bulldogs are the most penalized team Murray State has faced in conference play, with 12 yellow cards, enough to lead the MVC, and a red. The Racers have four yellows and no reds.
