MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State closes the regular season Thursday afternoon against Belmont at Cutchin Field, already assured of a place in the Missouri Valley Championship and playing for the right to host a tournament match.
The Racers are unbeaten in six, the longest run of their season, and have conceded three goals across that same timespan. The streak reached six on Nov. 1 at Evansville, where Murray State scored three times in nine minutes and 19 seconds to erase a 1-0 deficit and win 3-1, its first road win of the year. Senior Sami Wilson scored the first goal of her career in that match, in her 72nd appearance, more than any current Racer has made.
Belmont leads the all-time series 9-7-1 and has won four of the last five meetings. Murray State has not beaten the Bruins since March 12, 2020.
- Junior forward Breece Bass leads Murray State in goals (5), points (13), shots (46) and shots on goal (20) and has three of the team's four game-winners. She has 12 career goals and 33 career points, the most of any current Racer.
- Addison Howell leads the Racers with four assists and had two at Evansville.
- Ten Racers have scored in 2026, and 14 of the team's 17 goals have come in the second half.
- Murray State is 3-3-2 at Cutchin Field, where it has scored 11 of its 17 goals.
- Murray State has four yellow cards and no reds in 17 matches, the fewest in the Missouri Valley, and is the only team in the conference that has not attempted a penalty kick.
Scouting the Bruins
Belmont is 4-8-4 and 3-5-0 in the Missouri Valley and arrives on a two-match winning streak, a 3-0 result against Valparaiso on Oct. 24 and a win at Indiana State on Nov. 1. The Bruins are the only team in the conference without a league draw in a season that has produced them in bunches everywhere else.
Reagan Ross leads Belmont with seven goals and 16 points and ranks among the conference's top five in goals. Lillie Tabor is third in the Missouri Valley with six assists. Through Oct. 26 the Bruins had scored 16 goals and allowed 22, with 196 shots and 82 corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Greta Genie has played every minute in goal this season and has 54 saves. Murray State has not scored against Belmont since a 3-1 loss in Murray in September 2022, a span covering a scoreless draw in Nashville in 2023 and a 2-0 Belmont defeat at Cutchin Field in 2024.
