First Pitch
The Racers are coming off their first conference sweep since March of last season as they took all three games from TTU over the weekend. MSU had two walk-off victories and all three wins featured late rallies. The Bulldogs won 2-of-3 over the weekend at Alcorn State and have won four of their last five games.
Inside The Matchup
Tuesday will be just the fourth matchup all-time between the two schools. MSU swept the Bulldogs in a three-game series back in 2013 at Reagan Field. MSU outscored AAMU 32-6 in the series. The Racers are 5-1 all-time against the Southwestern Athletic Conference. MSU has also played Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State from the SWAC as well.
National Leader
Adam Bauer remains the national leader in a pair of statistical categories in 2016. Bauer's seven triples and 57 runs scored both lead the nation. Bauer has also reached base safely in all 41 games this season, two shy of breaking the program record.
Break Out The Brooms
The Racers' sweep over the weekend against Tennessee Tech is MSU's first series sweep this season and the first OVC series sweep since March of 2015 when they beat Eastern Illinois in all three contests. All three of MSU's wins this past weekend featured late rallies, including a pair of walk-off game-winners from Nick Moore and Jaron Robinson.
