Racers Travel To Nashville For Outdoor Music City Challenge

Murray State looks ahead to its final outdoor meet before competing in the MVC Outdoor Championships.
Murray State is slated for a two-day competition in Nashville, Tennessee for the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt. This is the Racers' final weekend of regular-season competition before traveling to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Missouri Valley Outdoor Championships May 10-12.
MSU looks to maintain their momentum going into the weekend after 24 different track and field athletes set new personal records at the John McDonnell Invitational and the Arkansas State Alumni Classic, along with two new school records in the 400-meter hurdles set by Chelby Melvin and the 4x400-meter relay that was set by Melvin, Simone Joseph, Kayla Bell and Anouk Krause-Jentsch.
The student-athletes scheduled to compete in Nashville along with Melvin, Joseph, Bell and Krause-Jentsch are Jakiya Baker, Breanna Day, Amirr Evans, Meghan Fletcher, Kylie Gormann, Lucia Herrero Yanez, Jaylea Hooten, Jocelyn Host, Kinsey Huber, Lindley Johnston, Ruth Kimutai, Emilia Kubik, Alyssa Moore, Madelyn Muller, Caroline Murphy, Morgan Noyes, Jazmyn Owens, Jenna Pauly, Alba Perez Sanz, Brooke Probst, Ayla Rice, Laura Seeberger, Andrea Segovia, Ainsley Smith, DiamonAsia Taylor, Tayla Tootle, Samantha Tucci, Emily Wagner, Hope Ware, Alyssa Williams, Allison Wood and Abby Yanka.
Also competing in the meet from the men's cross-country team are Ben Crask, Jackson Custer, Nathan Quinn, Gabe Russell, Joey Santoro, Dan Schalk and Jarod Willis. Custer will be the only men's cross-country member competing in the 3,000-meter run, with the other six student-athletes competing in the 5,000-meter run.
