With a Racer win and a Drake loss or tie, MSU can secure its first Missouri Valley Conference title since joining the league in 2022. The Racers are also chasing their first 10-win season since 2019.
Both MSU and ISU enter Thursday's match on a hot streak. The Racers are seeking their fifth consecutive win, while the Sycamores aim to extend their unbeaten run to five.
Senior Mary Hardy has been central to the Racers' late-season push. The preseason First Team All-MVC selection has scored four goals and recorded two assists in the last four matches. Her game-winner at Valparaiso was the eighth of her career, moving her to fourth in program history.
MSU continues to showcase all-around production, with freshman Addison Howell earning MVC Freshman of the Week honors following her first collegiate assist at Valparaiso
The Racers' strong defensive front will face a highly productive Indiana State attack that averages 2.33 goals per match. MSU has held opponents to just 1.18 goals per match this season.
The Sycamores are led by sophomore Alex Lehnart, who leads the MVC with nine goals and 24 points. Lehnart flew under the radar entering the season, as she was not selected to a preseason All-MVC team. Senior Brooklyn Woods, the reigning MVC Defensive Player of the Week, was ISU's lone member of the preseason All-MVC First Team.
The Racers and Sycamores will kick off at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, on ESPN+.
