The Murray State Racers, (14-6, 1-2 MVC) face the Illinois State Redbirds (10-13, 2-1 MVC) for their second series of Missouri Valley Conference play in Normal, Ill. this weekend.

The Racers enter this series after opening MVC play 1-2 against Evansville at home last weekend.

Murray State is 10-8 all time against the Redbirds and have won five of six meetings since joining the MVC in 2023.

The Racers currently lead MVC in batting at .307 and MSU's Will Vierling leads the Racers with a .390 batting average and seven home runs. Dustin Mercer and Vierling have reached base in 20 and 17 consecutive games respectively.
