The Murray State Racers (14-22, 4-11 MVC) travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa for a Missouri Valley Conference series against the UNI Panthers (22-11, 10-3 MVC) March 11-13.Â
Friday will mark the seventh all-time meeting between the Murray State Racers and the Panthers of UNI. The Panthers came out on top in the most recent matchup on Saturday, March 18, winning 17-0 in Murray, Ky. to push their win streak in the series to four. The Racers' lone win in the series came on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Murray State came out on top 3-1. Â
The Racers are currently tenth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings, one spot ahead of Evansville and just behind Drake. Meanwhile, the Panthers are in third place behind Belmont and Southern Illinois.Â
The Racers are coming off of an extra-innings win over former OVC rival Austin Peay on Tuesday. Freshman Karlye Graber had a standout day in the circle, pitching five and two-thirds innings and allowing just two earned runs with a pair of strikeouts. Â
Freshman Katy Huels currently leads the Racers with a .316 batting average and has started all 36 games this season, leading the team with 36 hits. She is tied with Parker Holcombe for the team lead in multiple-hit games at 9 and features three games with three hits.  She is currently in the midst of the longest hitting streak and reached base streak of the season for the Racers, having recorded a hit in the last 12 games, the fifth-longest in program history.
The Racers are fifth in the MVC with a combined batting average of .261 and 130 RBI on the year. Right behind Huels, Ailey Schyck is second on the team with an average of .302 and is tied with Erin Lackey to lead the team with 19 RBI and leads the team a .552 slugging percentage.  Â
Murray State is tenth in the MVC standings with a 3.98 team ERA. Bre Haislip (5-10) leads the team in innings pitched at 99 and strikeouts with 53. The Petersburg, Tenn. native has the lowest ERA among Racer starters at 2.83. Freshman Karlye Graber (5-7) features an ERA of 3.544 across 23 appearances and nine starts. Opponents are batting just .257 against her on 67.2 innings pitched.
UNI has the third-best batting average in the MVC .276 and leads the league with 43 home runs. Kylee Sanders leads the team and the MVC with a .452 batting average through 104 at-bats across 32 games. She leads the team with 47 hits and is tied for the team lead with nine doubles. Addison McElrath (.314) leads the team in home runs and RBI with 10 homers and 28 RBI. She is one of three Panthers with a batting average over .300 as Kate Lappe features a .391 average with 36 hits, eight doubles, and eight homers. Â
The UNI pitching staff is eighth in the MVC with a combined ERA of 3.84. Anna Wischnowski (12-5) leads the team in wins and has a team-low 2.73 ERA through 115.1 innings. The junior has pitched 10 complete games, allowing 45 earned runs with 79 strikeouts.          Â
