
Physical Match Ends in Shutout Loss for the Racers

Murray, Ky. - A physical Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field ended in defeat for Murray State, as the Racers fell 1-0 to Lindenwood in their first loss of the year.
The Lions (2-0-0) scored in the 53rd minute when Rachel Jackson converted off a corner, which proved to be the game-winner.
The Racers (1-1-0) applied steady pressure in the second half, recording 10 of their 12 shots after the break. Breece Bass and Megan Wilson each tallied multiple attempts on goal, but Murray State could not break through.
Physical play defined the afternoon, with 17 fouls called against the Racers and a combined seven yellow cards issued, including cautions to both head coaches.
Murray State will look to bounce back Thursday, Aug. 21, when it travels to Nashville to face Lipscomb in its third nonconference match.
